Don Anderson

Don was born March 3, 1947. Photos below are Don and Alice around 2015 and Don's grandchildren in 2022.

2022 update Alice passed on February 5, 2020. Don is still playing in two bands, plays golf weekly and weakly and camps at music festivals a lot over the summer months.

Info as of 2015 Don has two children, Sarah and Scott, from his first marriage that ended in divorce after seventeen years. In 1987, Don married Alice, who has two sons, Shawn and John. They were quite busy during the years all the children were at home.
Don and Alice both worked for the state of Kansas. Don was with the Department of Administration as an accountant and Alice was with the Department of Revenue. They both retired a few years ago.
They spend time taking care of their home on 6 acres, going to bluegrass festivals in their RV and traveling to visit family. Between them they have seven grandchildren.
Don enjoys beekeeping, woodworking, spending time with family, and playing in two different bands. Don has been involved with music much of his life. He started playing in a rock band while at Washburn University. The band cut a record in New York for Roulette Records that earned enough to help with expenses during college. In 2010, his band, The Morning Dew, was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame.
The best things in Don's life have been his family, meeting and marring his second wife and enjoying their adult children and their children. He considers his time growing up in Garnett as a major factor in a happy and enjoyable life.

Notes:
In 2005 Don and his band Pastense played at the Vassar Playhouse near Pomona Lake. Ron and Jeannie Wolken, Tarry and Linda Miller and Jerry and Betsy Hoke were there. Photos below are Don's senior picture and his band in 1995.
Don served in the Army National Guard.
