Surprise Party for Rick and Tharon - March 2, 2013
A few weeks after Rick Sass and his wife Tharon retired and moved back to Kansas they mentioned to Terry that they would like to have more company. Terry suggested to me that we get a group together and surprise them at their house. I was skeptical at first because the last thing I would want is for a group of people to show up at my house unexpectedly. However, she said it would be fine (and it was) so we started planning. Terry arranged a visit to their house that day to assure they would be home.
Those attending were: Rick and Tharon Sass, Terry Cain, Denny Davis, Marilyn and Ben Bennett, Ron and Jeanne Wolken, Merle and Kay Wittman, and Mark and Linda Womelduff.
We met at around 11am at Walmart in Ottawa, which is just a few miles from their home out in the country. When we got their Tharon had went to town to get something but fortunately Rick was home. He really was surprised - as was Tharon when she got home and saw all the cars in the driveway. We brought food with us and everyone had a great time. Terry and I were the last ones to leave at around 5pm.
