Looking Over You
(author unknown)
I am a tiny angel
I'm smaller than your thumb,
I live in peoples pocket,
That's where I have my fun.
I don't suppose you've seen me,
I'm too tiny to detect,
Though I'm with you all the time,
I doubt we've ever met.
Before I was an Angel
I was a fairy in a flower,
God, Himself, hand picked me,
And gave me Angel power.
Now God has many Angels
that He trains in Angel pools,
We become His eyes, ears, and hands
We become His special tools.
And because God is so busy,
With way too much to do,
He said that my assignment
Is to keep close watch on you.
When He tucked me in your pocket
He blessed you with Angel care
Then told me to never leave you,
And I vowed always to be there.
I'm your Guardian Angel . . .
Guardian Angel
Guardian angel up above
Look down on me with all your love.
Watch over me both day and night
And guide me with your precious light.
An Angel Whisper
(author unknown)
Angels are ever all around us
And with His love they do surround us.
When my heart is sore in need
The angels come, my soul to feed.
They come to me from up above
and sing in whispers of His love.
When in my heart I feel a tug
I know that it's an Angel's hug.
All Through the Night
(author unknown)
Sleep my child and peace attend thee,
All through the night.
Guardian angels God will send thee,
All through the night.
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and dale in slumber sleeping
I my loved ones' watch am keeping,
All through the night.
Angels watching, e'er around thee,
All through the night.
Midnight slumber close surround thee,
All through the night.
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and dale in slumber sleeping
I my loved ones' watch am keeping,
All through the night.
Morning Angel
(author unknown)
Early in the morning
When the sun begins to rise,
A little sunshine angel
Wakes up and rubs her eyes.
She dresses up in sunshine,
In glowing golden rays,
And sets out on her wandering
To brighten up our days.
She touches every flower
As it opens to the sun
And spreads warmth and happiness
To bless us every one.
What Do Angels Look Like?
(author unknown)
Like the little old lady who returned your wallet yesterday.
Like the taxi driver who told you your eyes light up the world when you smile.
Like the small child who showed you the wonder in simple things.
Like the poor man who offered to share his lunch with you.
Like the rich man who showed you that it really is all possible, if only you believe.
Like the stranger who just happened to come along, when you had lost your way.
Like the friend who touched your heart, when you didn't think you had one to touch.
Angels come in all sizes and shapes,
all ages and skin types.
Some with freckles, some with dimples,
some with wrinkles, some without.
They come disguised as friends, enemies,
teachers, students, lovers and fools.
They don't take life too seriously,
they travel light.
They leave no forwarding address,
they ask nothing in return.
They wear sneakers with gossamer wings,
they get a great deal on dry cleaning.
They are hard to find when your eyes are closed,
But they are everywhere you look, when you choose to see.
Things Aren't Always What They Seem
(author unknown)
Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the old basement.
As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why,
the older angel replied, "Things aren't always what they seem."
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest.
When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field. The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel "How could you have let this happen?"
The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.
"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied. "When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored. He was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it."
"Then last night as we slept in the farmer's bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead. Things aren't always what they seem."
The Angel
(author unknown)
Once upon a time, there was a child ready to be born. So one day she asked God:
They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?
Among the many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.
But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's enough for me to be happy.
Your angel will sing for you and will smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel's love and be happy.
And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don't know the language that men talk?
Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.
And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?
Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.
I've heard that on earth there are bad men, who will protect me?
Your angel will defend you even if it means risking her life.
But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.
Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you.
At that moment, there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly: Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.
Your angel's name is of no importance. You will simply call her "Mommy."
