2022 update from Jan "I have been retired from JCPenney since March of 2013. Wow! 9 years!
I married my long time partner, Art McKenna on June 5th, 2021. We will be celebrating our first anniversary. Art and I enjoy all kinds of sporting events. We also enjoy traveling, theatre, eating out, movies, playing cards and being with family and friends. I enjoy limited gardening, home decorating and time to do as I wish. I find this stage in life to be rewarding and interesting and than God everyday for my blessings.
Info as of 2015 After graduating from K-State, Jan made retailing her profession, working for Macy's and living in Kansas City. After she married Ben Lyson they lived in Detroit for and Minneapolis before returning to Kansas in 1978. Jan went to work for JC Penney as a liquidation manager of their outlet store in Overland Park. Ben liked to cook and did more than his share around the house which gave Jan more time for work, the house and the kids. Ben passed away in 2007 after a long illness. Jan retired from JC Penney in 2012 after 32 years.
Jan and Ben had two daughters, Courtney and Stacey (who were born in Minneapolis). She loved being a mom and enjoyed the girls growing up although it went to fast. Stacey and husband Jamie live in Overland Park. Courtney and husband Neil live in Springfield, MO. They have two kids, Simon (11) and Reagan (8).
In earlier years Jan enjoyed gardening, fashion, crafts and decorating. In recent years she enjoys watching the Royals, Chiefs and KU basketball. She spends a lot of time with family and friends - eating out and going to the movies and theater productions.

High School Memories Jan cherishes the memories from GHS - except Algebra II and Marching Band. She is glad we all had the opportunity of our lives together.
