I don't have much info for Longfellow Elementary School and Holy Angels School since I did not attend either. I would welcome info and photos from those of you who did. As far as I know these class members went to Holy Angels: Ronnie Benus, Fran Craig, Larry Feuerborn, Ronnie Miller, Marjorie Peine, Rick Struttman, Linda Lickteig, Ann Sheern, Gary Sobba, Gary Wittman, Merle Wittman, and Ron Wolken
There is now a historical museum in what used to be Longfellow School. We visited there during our 35-year and 50-year class reunions. It is really interesting.
Grade schools attended by others include: Richmond – Connie McClure; Welda – Harold Denchfield and John Walter; Colony – Hazel Henderson; Princeton – Rick Sass; and Mont Ida – Leonard Davison.

Giant Strikes were also known as a Maypole swing or octopus swing. I don't have a photo of the giant strikes at Longfellow but these are similar. I loved playing on them but research shows they were dangerous and removed from most schools by the 1950s.
